As Christians, we must be open to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to be our guiding force. While it may be difficult, we must yield to the holiness of God’s will for us rather than our personal desire and constant dictating to God the proper course of action that we feel should be taken. Much too often we see what we want and we try to make God, Sacred Scripture, Theology, or Religious Teachings fit into our little self-righteous mold. What we fail to remember is that life will always be about choices, life will always create circumstances of fear and doubt, and life will always be full of struggles and change. You cannot constantly alter the basic tenets of truth every time you encounter anxiety, become uncomfortable, or experience simple apathy. However, if we stop clinging to unnecessary desires and presumptions, if we cease our tight grip on the justification of sinful behavior, and if we allow the healing and anointing power of God to lead us into repentance and reconciliation, then we will find ultimate peace. It is a genuine and lasting peace that you will only find in God, for only in God will our souls be at rest. We must abandon the trappings and fallacies of the “church of the most comfortable life” and the “brothers and sisters of the good life” and return to the Church of “Jesus Christ”. For it is the Church of Jesus binds that us as one body with Christ as its head.
