As DCHS PTO President I have been receiving numerous questions about school supplies. I hope this helps with new students and freshman especially. In high school the students attend the first day with a notebook and folder and will be given needed school supplies by each teacher as well as a syllabus for the year. As an experienced parent I can give this SUGGESTION as most classes need only spiral notebooks, sectional tabs, 3 ring binders, loose leaf paper, index cards, folders, and ink pens (blue, black and red) and pencils and lots of computer paper at home for use with writing papers if you happen to want to pick some up while on sale. (Throughout the year my kids used poster boards and tri-fold poster boards for presentations so I keep on hand) Students are allowed to carry a backpack to class and decorate their lockers (you need a lock). Keep in mind any electives and their specific needs. As always, the office will take donations of any supplies for students who cannot afford them and teacher supplies for their classrooms. WE ALWAYS NEED PRINTER PAPER! The library tries to allow students to use their printers as needed so donations to keep that ability for our students is GREATLY appreciated. When your printer at home is out of ink and your child is in a panic - you will be as appreciative as we have been! Any other suggestions or questions - note below and I will try to get answers for you. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE AN AMAZING YEAR!
