As Haruki Murakami writes in his book, Kafka on the Shore, “Narrow minds devoid of imagination. Intolerance, theories cut off from reality, empty terminology, usurped ideals, inflexible systems. Those are the things that really frighten me. What I absolutely fear and loathe.” Doesn’t it make the case stronger that we do need more imagination and optimism in our own life, and in the relationships between us and others?
