As I alighted the car, my mind started hallucinating a day in the past vaibhava of this Devasthana. There were vedic priests, the musicians, the poets, the artisans sculpting their next marble marvel, the nobility of place and the common folks visiting for the darshan of the deity. There were village belles with their vaalu-jade, coy smiles and vayyara swaying rounded pots on their hips as they collected water from the temple precints. What a beautiful cultural melting-pot this place would have been. The setting would have resembled a beautiful spring morning, the sparkling nose ring of the Mother. The Mlecchas had destroyed many a hindu kingdom. From Orugallu to Hastinapura, from Vangadesha to swarna-rajya of Vijayanagara, all witnessed scorched earth policy of the barbarian hordes of the desert that set upon the task of vanqushing the heathens and establish monotheistic supremacy. Still many of our temples remain, still we have survived. There is a reason perhaps to our existence; to fight another day. The Jeeva Nadi of Santhana Dharma that had once flown here will ebb once again. Every Sanataani would have to make a Sankalpa and play part in the upcoming renaissance. We will live and we shall rule our lands once again. nammadevasthana.blogspot.in/2014/09/temple-run-quick-darshana-of-sri.html
