As I am on the road for work and beginning to plan for my meeting tomorrow, it strikes me that there is another angle to this WCS School Board issue that some arent talking about yet. WCS is a Brand. Yes - a very solid, reputable brand. Recognized and revered as one of the top school districts in this country. A brand should be cherished, protected, guarded with the utmost care and attention to its longevity and ability to connect with its loyal customers and to generate ongoing revenue. The WCS Brand is so recognized that I would bet if you asked most of the parents that paid top dollar to live in this county they would tell you a major contributing factor was the WCS Public School System and its national recognition as a top school district in this country. What our WCS Board has done by knowingly electing Mr. Gregory as the face of our school system as Chairman is to tarnish our precious and valued Brand. Our property values in large part are driven up by the fact that this Brand is so strong. Just as national brands have dropped spokespersons and leaders when their affiliations with controversial products, comments or personal situations have led to a compromise of their recognized brand, so should we.
