As I am sure many of you have already heard this, but the grand jury did not indict the police officer. Here is my take and I know many may strongly disagree with it. I actually agree with the jurys decision. I am also glad that they revealed the evidence. I was worried that they would not release it, but they luckily they did, and it further lends me to the decision of the jury. Personally, I have to disagree with a number of my fellow liberals especially on this. There is rampant racial inequality and police brutality particular in regards to minorities. This is undeniable and many working in the justice system will tell you this. There definitely needs to be major reform in these regards. With all that being said, from what I have looked at, it appears this is not such an example. There is nothing from prior to suggest the officer would have acted in this manner though this alone is nowhere near enough obviously, so lets turn to other evidence. There is substantial physical evidence that Brown was in the wrong. The witness testimony was also questionable, especially that key one who seemed to be making up stuff as he went along. From what I can tell, the officer was not in the wrong in this case. I, therefore, agree with the jurys decision in this. I implore people not to riot as it accomplishes absolutely nothing. Instead, lets focus on solving many of the issues raised by this case.
