As I approached home this morning thinking of the cold, sweet smoothie I was going to get from coffee shop near my house I came to a stop near the freeway. I looked to my right and saw a man with a sign asking for change at the bottom of the offramp. This man had no food, no water, and it was already 97 degrees @ 9:30 am. I rolled down to the store, picked him up some water and a bagel. When I returned I couldnt find him, I glanced around the freeway on ramps and off ramps. Couldnt find him, it wasnt till I looked down in this ravine near the freeway under a tree was a man and his family, the same man I had seen standing near the freeway. Its then my heart sank, knowing the four bottles of water would only hold them for a little while. I rode back and got them more water and some food. Moral of the story, dont complain about the heat there are people suffering worse than you with less. Suddenly it doesnt feel so hot anymore.
