As I celebrate my birthday today, I am proud of the pollinator garden that we built at QBG. This was a volunteer effort and proposed for the KCP. This garden was created with two special classes of Alternate Assessment high school students teaching them in a setting that is safe and diverse. As the pollinators arrive so did visitors, including many hummingbirds, a rare sight in Queens proper. Success are measured in how you touch peoples lives and my students grow and develop same as our garden. Thank you for Mother Nature for another great year caring for the environment.
