As I engaged with others about this issue over the course of the last couple of months one of the issues that continues to surface is that theres no money for FDK in Medway. Yet over the last few years the selectmen have voted to purchase a farm (~$1,000,000), remodel an old house into a function facility (~$3,000,000) and are now contemplating new astro-turf athletic fields (~$250k for design and engineering, + ~$3 million for construction). With every financial decision the town makes there are costs and tradeoffs. Over the last few years Medway has spent a lot of money on nice to haves. Im all for nice-to-haves, if they dont require raising taxes and/or putting off more pressing needs, like FDK. To help where I can to ensure that education is at the top of the towns priorities Ive pulled papers to run for Board of Selectmen in May. I need your help to get the fifty signatures needed to run.
