As I get older, I question my ranking of Terminator 2 over the original Terminator. While I like the second film better, does that necessarily make it a superior film? To further complicate matters, the two are almost entirely different genres, with the original being a borderline horror film (featuring several of the tropes thereof), while the latter is a straight sci-fi action picture. This becomes almost a question of if Godfather Part 2 is better than Empire Strikes Back, in that they are distinct genres, and so its difficult settle on an answer, but the Terminator films are part of a series, and so this should be easier.
