As I go into this two-week period of band camps, I feel that I need to introduce myself to those who may not know me, and re-introduce myself to those who once did... All in all, I want EVERY student (band, or not) to utilize my experiences and passionate want to see them succeed in their goals. Heres a quick resume/F.Y.I.: 1) I am a certified and Highly Qualified teacher in the Social Sciences, English-Language Arts, and Music. 2) I am a graduate student of History: Archaeology & Heritage Resource Management, with a focus on the Far East. 3) I founded (this year!) and am developing Personal Enrichment Services, a hybrid business program that tackles the educational and personal needs of Western society through Eastern methods. 4) I have recently become an international lecturer, branching out from courses and lectures that I offer for the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama: Huntsville. 5) Courses that I offer beyond secondary education are various creative writing and history courses, such as Mystery Novel 101, The Incense Trail of the Middle East, Historys Mysteries, Creative Writing for the Video Game Industry, Ninja & Secrets of the Bansenshukai, etc. 6) I enjoy my off-time with anything outdoors, such as hiking, kayaking/rafting, SCUBA, etc., and also write, research, and have traveled extensively. 7) My favorites list: Most beautiful tropical beach Ive seen to date?: Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Ley, Thailand; Most heart-stopping moment to date?: Other than meeting my wife for the first time... Getting my Tokyo Drift, well... Tsukuba Drift on in a Nissan 350Z near Tsukuba, Japan.; Most breath-taking moment to date?: Again, other than meeting Mandy for the first time... Seeing the sun rise over the Roof of the World, the Himalayas.; My favorite authors?: Poe, Hemingway, Greanias, Dickens, and Verne.; Most life-changing experience to date?: Undergoing the training of Master Victor Makoto and receiving an honorary katana for my devotion.; The course that has been the most fun to instruct to date?: The Ancient Cultures of South America; Best Brother-from-Another-Mother?: Master Dennis Yang, of Brooklyn, New York. (太客气, Master Yang); Greatest honor to date?: Other than Mandy having agreed to marry me out in the middle of the Caribbean... Being awarded an Assistantship through the University of North Alabama (experience, free tuition, and a monthly pay). I turned down the Assistantship to help the Red Regiment and Lion Pride Music Programs get back on their feet. I traded one honor for another. :) I hope the quick list above gives everyone a bit of insight into the dude that is joining the educational staff of Berry and Hubbertville High Schools. Please utilize the entire teaching staff at both schools, as it is our duty and pleasure to help you find your way and meet your goals.
