As I have had the privilege to meet and talk with some of the very special people who foster our breeds rescue I have begun to understand the deep level of love and compassion they have for the dogs. Like so many of the Clayton Nation folks I would just love to see Kim keep Clayton. But there is a deeper more profound love that many of the Clayton Nation members are about to be exposed to for the first time, the love to pass on a special one to a home so that another special one can receive the care and love they so deserve. Without this level of love and compassion, we the Springer lovers would not have homes to take in these special dogs in so much need of compassion and love and care. As members of Clayton’s Nation I hope our continued role will be to keep the passion alive and to use the Clayton experience to provide the prayers, compassion, friendship and support to families like Kim’s. I know we all desire the continued contact of Clayton and I am sure Kim will ensure that this will take place with Clayton’s new home once he is well enough to move to a new forever Springer Rescue Home! My hope and desire it that the Clayton FB page continues with the next special needs Springer for all of us bring into our hearts along with Clayton. This connection has brought the awareness of the need for additional foster homes for those Springer’s that have been dealt an unfair phase of their life. Those foster homes are needed for simple care and lodging till a forever home is found to the very special families like Kim’s that can provide the specialized care of the ones in desperate need. As a Springer breeder I go beyond the norm to ensure that each and every one of my pups finds a forever home. I always tell each one of the new homes for my pups that they still have a home with me. Should any type of life affecting item reach their home, I am a phone call away to take the pup back and work with them till the crises is over or if we need to place the dog in a new home. I have only had to go and rescue one of my pups. I hope and pray that I do not ever have to do that again. But I feel better knowing that should I be left out of the loop and one of my pups end up the ERSA they will take care of the dog first and contact me second. This year at the Spring National held at Purina Farms is going there will be a Rescue Parade. Not only will those of us who attend but all of the Clayton Nation members will be able to see the success stories that the foster families and ERSA groups have accomplished. There are many very special folks who started the rescue effort, who have continued the rescue effort and have had more than one sleepless night worrying about a dog or the rescue efforts. While I know some of these folks there are many I do not. To those I know and to those I do not know please accept my heartfelt thanks for what you have done and what you will do for our breed. Kim I understand your decision and I support it whole heartily but, I would be remiss if I did not let you know that I sure wish you and Clayton could be together and still be able to help those other Springer’s in need. Just my two cents worth…….
