As I have listened to people and read comments of people who stand on their moral high ground today, I have wondered if they have ever gotten passed their privileged state and thought about how we got here. Have they thought about the inheritance their founding fathers gave them as they institutionalized inequality into the very document that began this nation. And from that document was born some imagined humanity and morality of being better than and more than others. As you look down from your lofty perches, it would be wise to realize that your holier than thou attitude. Your imagined moral superiority are diminished by what has been across centuries moral behavior to the people who do not come from your tribe. The people who by institutional design have been relegated to second class status and social ambiguity. The sad part of your imagined wonder of how great thou art is that in your inherited privilege you have allowed the moral paucity to be the force of a declining nation. You cannot be great when you lie about the truth that sits before your eyes. But since it is below your gaze you miss it and continue to travel on the deluded path. The time has come for realizations that our boat sails the same ocean and travels the same journey. Without that realization we all bail water and waste energy that is better put to lifting our existence as a nation. Enjoy your perch. If you dont have wings when the branch gives you will land in the squalor you helped create.
