As I have stated from the beginning of my campaign, I am a free market conservative. Yesterday, I posted about Texas corporate welfare funds that politicians (on both sides of the aisle) gladly dole out to certain businesses. This not only leads to cronyism, but destroys the free market by giving some companies advantage over others via government hand outs. Just to point out how ludicrous it has become in our state, take a look at this really short article on how Apple received $21 million from the Texas Enterprise fund for a new campus. Yes, Apple. The very successful, worlds second largest technology company. I want to zero out these funds and focus our state government spending on what it should be focused on... water needs, transportation funding, the safety of our citizens, education and defending the rights of all Texans!
