As I lay awake early this morning thinking of Roland and his life - TopicsExpress

As I lay awake early this morning thinking of Roland and his life I realized how accurate Amanda was to name this page Rolands Fight. He was truly a fighter and warrior. Roland fought through injuries, diseases and pain that most people could not endure. George & I could not have been more proud of Roland these last few months and the courage and strength he showed. He fought all the way to the end to stay with the people closest to his heart and hated to leave them. He sought to make amends for mistakes made, heal broken relationships and strengthen others. Rolands bravery and fortitude were inspiring. He summoned up an inner peace and faith in God that lifted everyone around him. I have been amused and entertained by the Blais Boys (as I have called them for many years) and their playful banter. George and Roland have gone through the ups and downs of life, shared the triumphs and defeats, and managed to come through everything with smiles and laughter. Theres one big brother who feels very incomplete right now - a part of him is missing. Having witnessed the care and devotion of his family to him, I know why Roland felt like a rich man. With life having beaten him up at times, Roland could always go home to a refuge of love and understanding. His Gracie is one special little girl and their bond was unique. It broke my heart to watch his best buddy, Tramp, hide under the bed as Roland lay dying. Ive gone on too long but I just needed to pay tribute to Roland and honor the legacy of one of my Blais Boys one final time. George and I love you, Roland. Thank you for calling it right on this one, Amanda. You did good in so many ways. Thank you for your love and devotion to Roland, Kathleen and kids. We share your pain.
