As I lay snuggled with Ruby Grace tonight, I am overwhelmed at the remembrance of her birth night: Brandon had to leave the hospital to go to the hotel, and I stayed in the room with a beautifully brave mother whose daughter I already loved as my own, though she wasnt. The emotions of those first 48 hours are indescribable, yet are filled with love and peace. I am brought to tears by her selflessness to allow me to be Rubys mama while she watched. Only God can weave relationships like that. I am immensely blessed.
