As I leave America tomorrow morning to fly to another place that I love, Brazil, I leave a part of me in several places. A part of my heart lives in Apopka, Florida with my eighty one year old mother! What a fine, godly woman! And now my wonderful baby daughter stayed behind with her. oi Another part of me is in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, with my baby sister Amy, as she suffers with ALS, a terminal illness. Several parts of me live in Oklahoma, where four out of five kids live, and many grandkids! And now I go to my other world, the triple border, where three great nations join. Who am I? Where am I from? And I havent even mentioned other places far away like Albania, where a great father in law and mother in law live, and Mexico, where I lived for four years as a young man. Mexico, you left a mark on my soul, and I will always love you. So where am I from? , I speak English with a watered down version of a South Carolina accent, where all my ancestors are from. But I am from Florida, and love it, too. When I speak Spanish, the Paraguayans look at me, see my pink skin, and say He is a Brazilian of German descent. When I speak Portuguese, the Brazilians say he is from Argentina. So where am I from? I dont really know sometimes. Who am I? I know that less all the time. I guess I am fish out of water. But maybe all us Christians are. You see, we are just passing through. Hey, meet me at the Eastern Gate. Ill be there.
