As I look around and I see so much grief, I see my mothers cancer, - TopicsExpress

As I look around and I see so much grief, I see my mothers cancer, I see my fathers daily battles, I see a race fighting a war that should have been won in 1964, I see a mother who had to say see you later too soon to her son. She has to put her anger aside and beg the people around her to swallow the pain just for a while so she can reflect on a holiday that seems hopeless. Through all that, I am reminded of the traditions of this country the masacre of native Americans, the sale of slaves, the rape of a race as a whole. I see these things and I reminded of books, movies, and people who have attempted to pave a way for me. I am reminded of the fight, sweat, and tears, and at that point of reflection I am compelled to tell you, the son of man, the rose of Sharon, the Lilly of the valley, the son that has even the sun under his very finger has given us a reason to be thankful. Although his works are many, there is one that will never fade. For this I give you praise. I am grateful, thankful and certain he will return to us as we will return to the Father. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. May God keep you in his grasp.
