As I mentioned last night, I just returned from a week at Disneys Aulani and Ill be sharing pictures and my favorite bits, tips, etc. today. Lets start with my favorite morning. We spent one morning at Aunties Breakfast Celebration at Makahiki. Makahiki is located on the main floor and the lanai overlooks the koi pond beside the Waikolohe Valley pool area. There is indoor seating and patio seating. Right off the bat your party is greeted by none other than Mickey Mouse in his casual Hawaiian attire waiting for a photo with your family! Once inside, the buffet offers all kinds of traditional breakfast items: Mickey waffles, Stitch waffles, danishes, pastries, eggs in many forms, various meats, tons of fruit, etc. Youll also find some yummy Hawaiian and Japanese items. Beverages items include soda, coffee, tea and lots of fruit juices (yummy pineapple juice). And the coconut syrup is TO DIE FOR! While youre enjoying a leisurely breakfast, Auntie wanders around with her ukulele playing and singing songs while interacting with the guests and Minnie & Goofy make their way around to the tables. The characters did not seem rushed and even stopped by a couple of times. Auntie and the characters also invited the little ones to join in a parade and handed out various musical instruments and items for the kids to use while parading around the restaurant. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this breakfast together! *Reservations are recommended for breakfast and dinner. **If youre a Dolewhip float lover like I am take your refillable mug (or ask for a to-go cup) and fill it with pineapple juice so you can create a float later in the day with some Dolewhip.
