As I near the end of my decluttering challenge, I wanted to share some personal revelations with you all...a) for posterity b) for self-accountability and c) because I dont want to do the laundry. 1. Every journey starts with a single step. Or in our case, 15 minutes. 2. 80% of impulse purchases end up unused and dusty. 3. Saving money by buying in hyper-bulk is not worth the mental anguish of stepping over it for 6 months. 4. I work hard for my money. I dont work so I can buy things to donate in 6 months time. 5. Making my bed as soon as I leave it is the first step to a productive day. 6. I need to learn how to Quilt and Scrapbook. 7. When I learn how to Quilt and Scrapbook, I must only buy supplies for the current project 8. I dont need to keep up with the Joneses. Theyre not on my adventure. 9. My clothes should represent who I am. I am not cheap, badly made or designed to be thrown on the floor. 10. I wish Id found Shadow Boxes 20 years ago 11. Life IS simple. I complicated it. 12. Positive energy cant find the way into a cluttered home. 13. I lost my Self-Respect and my lust for life under the clutter. 14. Hearts and Minds are the only true places to store memories. 15. Clear spaces breed clear thoughts. 16. If it doesnt breathe, it doesnt really matter. 17. Be spontaneous with everything. Except bad thoughts and shopping. 18. Blaming others for my shortcomings is easy. So is being a fool. 19. Air, Love, Food, Water, Shelter. I prioritise anything else at risk of my sanity. 20. I am worth much more than five hundred thousand million times the total sum of all my possessions. Im sure I could carry on for hours, but Im going to stop now and do the laundry. Feel free to add - This is a list I need to print out and put in a shadow box, I copied and pasted from Jennie Garden
