As I posted earlier, today was a very emotional day for me at Ft. Campbell. I know that Veterans Day is in 11 days, but I had to do something today regardless of the terrible weather. I went to honor two of my old soldiers, two of my friends. In front of the new 101st. Airborne Division Headquaters is displayed seven thousand boots, each dedicated to every single U.S. service member that was killed in action in both Iraq and Afghanistan. To say I shed a tear is an understatement. The boots and the pictures of the men and women placed on them was by the date they were killed. It was easy for me to find Pauls boot and Johns boot. They were killed a week apart, each one of their Blackhawks they were flying in was shot down over Baghdad. Dedicated to them and to each and every service member that gave their life, may they all rest in peace.
