As I prepare myself for Lihle Sowazis home going celebration - TopicsExpress

As I prepare myself for Lihle Sowazis home going celebration service... My thoughts... There is a dire need for the church to be taught the doctrine of Gods Providence and His Sovereignty. Providence is the means by which God directs all things — both animate and inanimate, seen and unseen, good and evil — toward a worthy purpose, which means His will must finally prevail. Or as the psalmist said, his kingdom ruleth over all (Psalm 103:19). In Ephesians 1:11 Paul tells us that God worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. Providence means that the hand of God is in the glove of human events. When God is not at the steering wheel, He is the backseat driver. He is the coach who calls the signals from the bench. Providence is the unseen rudder on the ship of state. God is the pilot at the wheel during the night watch. As someone has said, He makes great doors swing on little hinges. Gods emotional life is infinitely complex beyond our ability to fully comprehend. For example, who can comprehend that the Lord hears in one moment of time the prayers of ten million Christians around the world, and sympathizes with each one personally and individually like a caring Father (as Hebrews 4:15 says he will), even though among those ten million prayers some are broken-hearted and some are bursting with joy? How can God weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice when they are both coming to him at the same time—in fact are always coming to him with no break at all? We must continue to examine the meaning of death because death is central to the meaning of life. If death is an enemy that triumphs over us when our lives end, if death is a horrible trick of nature that defeats us and our health, then our lives are meaningless. But if we understand that we are born, we flourish and when our time comes we die physically but not spiritually, we will live our lives from a meaningful place and live our deaths in a meaningful way. Death is an opulent, arrogant, obstinate illusion and a divine wonder twin of birth. Lihle is in the land of the living, but we remain in the land of the dying. At times like these, I dont try to figure things out, I just know that all things ultimately figure into a larger and higher Purpose that we may never fully understand in this present limited reality. All things ultimately work in concert for and toward an ultimate good! The clock and calendar can prove, disprove, approve and improve anything. Time is always on our side. Honor and respect it regardless.
