As I promised in my previous posting... Here are some #natural, home #remedies for #Sciatica pain: 1. #IceTherapy: place an ice pack wrapped with paper towel on lower back for 15 min max. Repeat as needed. 2. #Herbal remedies: #Turmeric helps reduce pain and #inflammation and is great for Sciatica. It can be taken as spice added to food or as tablets. Please ask your Doctor about side effects with other medications you are taking. 3. Stop sitting on your back pocket wallet because it creates unbalanced posture. And correct your posture while sitting at a desk all day long. 4. Exercises: A. Press-ups: **this #exercise should not be done if you are diagnosed with a slipped #vertebrae. Press up slowly with hands or on elbows. Keep pelvis on floor. Hold for 1-3 seconds. Repeat for 3-5 stretches. B. Arch Back: **this exercise should not be done if you are diagnosed with a slipped vertebrae. Arch back slowly and hold for 1-3 seconds. Repeat for 3-5 stretches multiple times a day. C. Lie on floor and slowly pull affected leg up toward chest and hold for 15 seconds. Repeat on other side. Repeat for 3 stretches on both sides. D. Raise one leg and cross other leg over at the knee. Gently pull the above knee with hands towards the opposite shoulder. Hold for 30 seconds and slowly release. Repeat on other side for up to 3 stretches on both sides. 4. #InversionTherapy: inversion table (see image) can help relieve #Sciatic pain. Gravity pulls your spine downwards allowing your vertebrae to relax and increase circulation for faster healing. Use it daily.
