As I promised, this is going to be a long one. We Indians are - TopicsExpress

As I promised, this is going to be a long one. We Indians are in 21st century, the same era in which Europeans, Americans etc are. We are as educated as them, graduates, post graduates, double post graduates. Kudos to that. But what purpose does education serve? Degree? Jobs? No, get the basics clear, the main purpose of education is to broaden your thinking, make your mind more flexible to understand, analyse, and stand for right or wrong. Education makes us stand separate from the cattle race. If you are educated, if you term yourself as educated then there are a few basic things you should know: 1. Whatever you are, whoever you are, you are for your own self, even if you are prime minister, you are not for me, so you are not required to show attitude. Humbleness should be directly proportional to your position. Humbleness towards other humans, animals and other beings and the environment. 2. You are a postgraduate, working in biggest of MNCs, earning in lacs and still believe that clothes define a girl then sorry but your education had no meaning. If a girl wears skirt, it in no way means she is inviting you, your wife not wearing bangles should not really be your concern, what should concern you is if she loves you or no. 10 servants work at your place still you want your wife to cook? Believe me your education all went in vain. If women were meant for kitchen then Mary Kom, Sonia Gandhi, Sania Mirza, Lata Mangeshkar, Kiran Bedi, Farah Khan would not have been there where they are today. I was talking to a friend about this and he argued that there is a difference between Mary Kom and ordinary ladies, dude Mary Kom also started as an ordinary lady. You feel sorry for your mom, you are doing the same with your lady. I am not saying doing household is wrong but it should be a matter of choice and not a compulsion. I know a few ladies who wear ethnic clothes only, their hands are full of bangles, Sindoor is in its place, they cook four meals a day and then are involved in extra marital affairs, abuse in laws behind their back. I am dead sure you dont want the same from your lady. Let your lady be in her comfort zone, love her the way she is, and get the same love back. 3. I will quote a joke here, One lady to other: Aapki bahu kaisi hai? Lady: Bhot buri, na koi kaam karti hai, na sewa karti hai meri aur yahaan tak ki khana bhi mera beta banaa kar deta hai. Achha aur aapka daamaad kaisa hai? Daamaad toh heera hai heera, beti ko koi kaam nahi karne deta hai, apni maa ki sewa ke liye bhi naukar rakha hai, aur meri beti ko khana bhi khud hee bna kar khilata hai. U get the joke? This is termed as dual headed which is an example of illiteracy. You have a degree? Make your education count. Be different 4. There is nothing as male dominant society, male dominant family or male dominant world. A lady has equal rights. If you can shout on her, she can shout on you as well. She is not meant to please you. You are not any king and she is not your slave. Respect her to get back the respect. 5. Education is meant to enlighten you. To give you balls to take stand (pardon me for the word). This diwali pledge to act like a civilised, educated human living in 21st century. Get enlightened and believe me you wont need crackers, lights, diyas for the feel of festivity. Happy diwali.
