As I pulled the layers of moss green sheets and an old waffle - TopicsExpress

As I pulled the layers of moss green sheets and an old waffle comforter of my childrens bed and the beautiful green mixed brocade over my body to sleep; I first thought of a handsome man who once shared this with me, but then I thought, No, I want to give my thoughts to God and pray for the homeless outside tonight, it is so cold under those beautiful stars that Lila wouldnt stay out. And I pictured someone I know, sleeping behind a steering wheel; we will never know which friends are out there. Then I thought that so many are only a paycheck away from being homeless, this is history of the beginning years of the 21st century. I thought waking this morning,Does anyone realize that we all started on minimum wage when it was friendly to the cost of living; the cost of living that wanted its people to thrive. And does anyone remember that people like we were always spent that minimum wage back into the economy? Minimum wage earners spend every last dime and are the economic and structural baseline that moves the machine; it does not stall it; it does not slow it down but puts gas into it and gets that motor running. So if there is little to put in that motor of consumerism, it will freeze up and only stutter its engine in between. Reigniting this country begins at the minimum wage increase and sufficed as the Sleeping Giant of American Industry is now returning, that money will be spent here. I for one, would like to see it happen again, and hope it happens by the time I retire; leaving behind what I started with. My engine is tired and the station will be very cold for myself and those Baby Boomers who hold out and doing what we can to keep this machine alive. I love my country and I love those who sleep outside as well those who sleep behind a wheel. Raise that minimum wage~raise the economy~raise our people~Raise the Giant~Raise the Flag. Saddle Rivera
