As I read everyones comments regarding Michael Brown and Eric - TopicsExpress

As I read everyones comments regarding Michael Brown and Eric Garner, I keep thinking back to when I was a little reckless and disrespectful….many of you may remember this girl. I did not listen to my parents, teachers, principals, guidance counselors, police officers, or just about any authority figure I ran across. I was smart mouthed and rude, I spoke back to all of them….I even remember being held in the Norristown jail and writing Sarah Dunmire was here, my Father was an attorney in Norristown and the Court Administrator….he was not pleased to see his last name written in a holding cell. No one ever treated me with the type of violence we have recently witnessed, was it the times, was it because I was a young white girl living in an affluent suburb or was I just lucky? I want to remind everyone, regardless of the poor choices these two men made, the penalty for those choices is not death!! They were not given the opportunity to defend themselves in a court of law!! We did not know them so why do we keep assuming they were thugs!! I do see their families grieving, they seem like typical families to me, they seem just like me, imperfect but loving and grieving for their loved ones who they will never see again and trying to understand how the people they thought were there to protect us all actually caused this unbearable pain. Now I expect many of you to come back with your angry rants about what I have just said……I am just trying to make us all remember that these were just ordinary people, perfect and imperfect, good and bad, loved and probably in love and now they are gone and for many of us it just does not make any sense and we want to make sure other families do not have to go through this unbelievably horrible nightmare that they are living.
