As I read the recent posts of other farms 2015 kidding (the good - TopicsExpress

As I read the recent posts of other farms 2015 kidding (the good and the bad), I am reminded of all the problems we encountered during our 2014 kidding season here at E&M Farms in Shelbyville TN. I am feeling excited, anxious, nervous and worried. Our 2014 kidding season proved to be a very challenging one. We had four does to kid and each one required assistance during delivery. First to kid was Cherrywood Splash. She kidded with triplets. Two bucklings and a doeling. The bucklings were butt first and had to be pulled, while the doeling was in the correct position. All kids were delivered successfully. Second to kid was our first freshener E&M Farms Chloe. She had twin bucklings who were tangled. Chloe had to have a C-section and we lost one buckling. Third to kid was Willandrey Farm Louise. She presented with one foot and an ear with the head turned sideways. She had two doelings and a buckling and all were delivered successfully. The fourth to kid was Willandrey Farm EM Isabel. She also presented with a one foot head turned sideways. We were successful in delivering her doeling and buckling. Needless to say it was a very stressful kidding season but one I think we learned quite a bit from and I am hopeful that I will be better prepared for any challenges that we may we encounter, but hoping the 2015 year kidding season will be uneventful. We will have six does to kid this season and are looking forward to our 2015 kids. Should be lots of color! Happy kidding everyone!!!
