As I read through Proverbs this morning, I was confronted with some questions: If my faith is in God the Creator to whom ALL things belong and has no lack of anything (Acts 17:25), why do I concern myself with wealth and possession? If my God holds my future in His hands with good plans ahead, why do I strive to chart my own path, leaning on my own understanding of success (Proverbs 3:5)? What does this say about my relationship with the Father? I couldnt find an excuse. But His beauty is this - that He reveals these things so we can humble ourselves and open up for change. If He wasnt abounding in love, He wouldnt even bother (He has no lack of anything, its not as if He needed to be served by human hands) and would have left us to our own downward spiral. To quote Benny Prasad - Never allow the numbers in your bank account decide your spending. Spend (prudently) according to your (utmost) needs and you will see how God provides.
