As I reflect on the blessings of music, most especially such delightful and outstanding compositions like George Frideric Handels Messiah, I am [we are] reminded `Hallelujah, The Lord God Omnipotent Reineth. Reflecting on birth, life, death and ressurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I love Handels Messiah and most recently have been moved by U2 and Bonos song Yahweh: Take these shoes Click clacking down some dead end street Take these shoes And make them fit Take this shirt Polyester white trash made in nowhere Take this shirt And make it clean, clean Take this soul Stranded in some skin and bones Take this soul And make it sing Yahweh, Yahweh Always pain before a child is born Yahweh, Yahweh Still Im waiting for the dawn Take these hands Teach them what to carry Take these hands Dont make a fist Take this mouth So quick to criticise Take this mouth Give it a kiss Yahweh, Yahweh Always pain before a child is born Yahewh, Yahweh Still Im waiting for the dawn Still waiting for the dawn, the sun is coming up The sun is coming up on the ocean This love is like a drop in the ocean This love is like a drop in the ocean Yahweh, Yahweh Always pain before a child is born Yahweh, tell me now Why the dark before the dawn? Take this city A city should be shining on a hill Take this city If it be your will What no man can own, no man can take Take this heart Take this heart Take this heart And make it break. U2 since their beginning in 1978: Bono Vox (Paul Hewson)(vocals, guitar)1978- The Edge (David Evans)(guitar, vocals)1978- Adam Clayton(bass)1978- Larry Mullen(drums)1978- Members had various nicknames in the early days. The Edge came about because of his chin. Bono Vox was the name of a hearing aid company Paul Hewson saw advertised on TV. Because U2 were a loud band, he thought it was an appropriate enough stage name. They were originally called Feedback, after the awful noise they made in early rehearsals. Their next name was The Hype, followed by U2. The title of this song means God. When you individually translate the letters to Hebrew letters, it spells out Gods name as it appears in The Bible. Bono (from Q Magazine November 2004): I had the idea that no one can own Jerusalem, but everybody wants to put flags on it. The titles an ancient name thats not meant to be spoken. I got around it by singing it. I hope I dont offend anyone. youtu.be/GkEQS5SJZPU
