As I reflect on the many things I have to be grateful for this Christmas, one thing kind of stands out above the others and it is quite odd, at that! Believe it or not, I am grateful that this Christmas was one where we were financially strapped due to me not being well enough to work yet. However, because of this I was forced to be creative and come up with ideas, that I never would have thought of without having to be financially responsible. For example one thing I did was paint a picture for a family member, that turned out quite well and seemed much better received, than I ever expected, because of the thought, time and patience involved. Secondly, I passed down an object that is very dear to me to a cousin of ours and now this object is more dear to him that it ever was to me. By me giving these gifts of meaning and seeing how they were received was a much better gift than I could have ever received or even purchased! It always blows me away when things that seem the hardest, at the time, end up being the greatest blessings, but thats how things usually work out in our paradoxical, imperfect world!
