As I reflect on the past Fall2014 semester (and 2 weeks!) I am extremely grateful to have fantastic students and Graduate Assistants who are giving and willing to achieve excellence and meaningful music making they may not have ever reached in their lives. Les Miserables - in Concert will forever stay with the Aztec Concert Choir, SDSU Symphony Orchestra and those who witnessed. The Beethoven 9 collaboration with La Jolla Symphony Chorus&Orchestra was meaningful and significant. The Will Todd Residency and concerts were unforgettable. What a semester for the SDSU School of Music and Dance! Sdsu Smd Congratulations students, SDSU Vocal Arts, Sdsu Choirs, Arts Alive SDSU, SDSU Symphony Orchestra, Michael Gerdes, Shannon Kitelinger, Maria Didur, Paul Infantino, Ibis Laurel, Paul May and the other faculty and staff who achieve excellence in the Arts every day. Break legs on juries and exams. Happy Holidays and New Year. Come back in January hungrier than ever. Theres meaningful work to be done. --Dr. W
