As I reread Jacobs story this morning, I was reminded of the role that humility plays in a true desire to draw nearer to God. God promises to look with favor on those who throw themselves at His feet. Acknowledgement of wrongdoing and admission of guilt are pivotal in making life changes that are for the good of us all. Holding on to our prideful opinions of self and refusing to take ownership of our own foolish decisions keep us in the dark and depressed recesses of denial. Turning to God as our focus brings us closer and closer to the Light. Prayers are offered by those that are completely convicted of their sin and shame. God hears and answers our prayers. Sometimes in a way that we least expect it.
