As I rest in the quiet comfort of my world, admiring bits and pieces of beauty created by nature, my sweet wife and by me, my mind tends to wander, destination undetermined. I can hear the chatter and laughs of the grandchildren as they climb and run around The Creek fascinated with its rocks and cool running water. I watch as the small white and coral colored flowers blow from the Crape Myrtle Trees only to be caught by The Creek and carried to the holding pond forming an Armada of beauty. An occasional Blue Jay or Robin stops by to splash in the cool waters and glances my may with no real concern. A couple of squirrels run along the top of the fence wanting to share the cooling waters, but are hesitant to do so as long as my ferocious buddy, Beaux Bo, lays at my feet. The smell of the flowers, the distant communications of two lonely Doves, the smell of freshly cut grass and the cooling breeze all signal a friendly, happy place, where this old body and mind can clear out the bothersome tidbits that occasionally drift my way. I take these trips often covering miles and seeing countless wonders, clearing my mind and soul and at the same time remaining handy, should Amber need me to take out the trash.
