As I rode around today I noticed so much more damage than before from the ice storm. Some trees with a few broken limbs, some torn and twisted in half, and trees were all the way down with roots and earth showing. Isnt that how life hits us sometimes, maybe just me, but the storms from the day, maybe friends, family or significant others can truly cause some irreversible damage if we let it. Sometimes the battle we are in can lead to just a few broken promises, maybe a split up with friends and then others hurt so bad to the core that they floor us causing us to be uprooted from everything we thought was right and perfect in life to laying in bed sobbing. As I watched a father and daughter plant a tree together I thought to myself how awesome it is that our Father also plants a new life in us when it seems like the life we have is broken beyond repair. I see so many testimonies walking around me everyday from broken marriages to new ones planted in the Will of God. Broken relationships that led to new relationships with a person of God that fills lives with His Word. Thank God that His love is always forgiving, always renewing and so alive in us. So whenever we are broken, in one way or another, our Great God knows how to bring new life into us with stronger roots to weather the storms that this world brings against us. He is able to plant new lives, new loves, new careers or even repair the damage and restore lives. Today and everyday I am thankful for a healing, overcoming God.
