As I sat through a parent/teacher conference at the middle school - TopicsExpress

As I sat through a parent/teacher conference at the middle school yesterday for one of my teenage boy church members, in the absence of his hard working and frustrated mother, I began to feel sorry for that generation of my race. For 2 hours, the teachers and the administration explained to me all the procedures and action plans that they allow for a failing student to get their act together to pass that class. And yet our kids still fail with their nonchalant attitudes. PARENTS: PLEASE STOP BLAMING THE SCHOOL SYSTEM FOR YOUR CHILDS ACADEMIC FAILURE. I promise you that the teachers are going over and beyond their job scope to set your child up for success. As parents we need to communicate with those that are responsible for our childs education instead of believing the untruths that our kids are coming home telling us. And if by chance your child is being neglected or mistreated, trust me when I say, that is the exception and not the rule!
