As I settled into the stand a few minutes ago I began to hear a cracking noise. As I looked down the ridge I could see a large tree leaning over the edge. About the time I focused on the tree it began to cracked more and suddenly crashed to the ground. Fortunately it wasnt a tree next to my stand or the tree Im in. As I sat thinking about what had just happened I looked at that tree being a representative of our lives. The truth is that the direction we lean will be the direction we fall. 1 John 2:15-17 says, Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever. We can love one or the other. If we love the world more than God we neglect that relationship and fall away. When this happens we tend to crash hard to the ground and become broken. If we lean the direction of God then he is there to catch us and lift each of us up. What direction are you leaning? Are you putting the world before God? Take an inventory of your life and be honest with yourself so that your eyes are open to the truth. As we all know The truth will set you free!!!!!
