As I sit back and think about this weekend I feel so grateful and proud to have such a beautiful hula family. As the weekend progressed, I could feel the legacy of my Kumu living through each and everyone of us! I could feel his presence while I was on stage I smiled and was so grateful for all that he has taught me, The entire day was very emotional for me for it was at that moment I realized He was not here with us in body, but living through the passion that we share! Someone extremely talented loving and caring came to me and told me I am going to quote you something from a movie and know that I mean this from the bottom of my heart, he lives in you I now know what I need to do I now know how this next journey in my life will begin, so many signs came to me this weekend and I am so grateful for that. I love and miss my Kumu very much I want him to be proud of everything we do from this day forward. Hula is life. Mahalo Kawaiola Yaris I will be here for you through it all, as it is my kuliana. Kuulei Martins I support you as well, as it is the wish of our Kumu! Love and compassion for our culture lives in each and everyone of us! Kekoa Tango we continue to honor our kuliana in japan as we continue to build upon our relationships with our hula Ohana. And Puni Patrick we support you in the kuliana given to you by Kumu himself at the Alakai in our halau! As you should be honored as you are the only one who uniki under Kumu Doric as an Alakai we were all their to witness and are blessed to have you in the halau! Darrah Peleras Jolina Felix-Keamoai and Tish! Together we come to continue to supporte the efforts of our Kumu as the kuliana was given to us in March. HULA IS LIFE AND TOGETHER WE HONOR OUR KUMU LOVE YOU ALL TO MAHINA AND BACK! Hula is within us! Together we bring the legacy of Kumu and Aunty Momi, love you guys!
