As I sit here and read all the banter on facebook about Christmas this….. and Carols that…., I am gently reminded by my children that Christmas is a time for being Thankful! (Love those kids) So I would like to take a moment and Thank some wonderful people in our town that work tirelessly every year to bring us some truly great events. Yes, yes I know that they get paid to do it (well some of them), but I guarantee that they always go over and above every time! To Erin Stewart and her fabulous Team (you know who you are!), Thankyou for the amazing Events, Parties, Balls, Movie nights, Markets and many other get togethers that you organise! The Spinifex Spree this year blew me away and it was a definite highlight for me this year. You and your team inspire me at every event and you are always ready and available to help me out, which I greatly appreciate! To Brad Holder and Wayne Ness, Wow - what can I say, you guys are truly Awesome and have such gifted talents. Your sound, lighting displays, movie screens, Audio & Visual Effects and outstanding Technology leave me captivated at every event! The endless tiring hours that you put in don’t go unnoticed and we appreciate all that you, and your teams do. Our Town is so blessed to have such dedicated generous people like you! To all of Hedland’s amazing talent – singers, dancers, musicians, circus performers, actors, stage hands, stall holders, food servers, cooks, cleaners, security, parking attendants, construction workers, vehicle drivers, first aid attendants and…… well there is just so many of you, but we are so glad that you take the time and massive effort to put together such magical events. You are definitely the icing on the cake and we are so thankful for all that you do. To all the Business Sponsors, great and small that, go out of their way to fund Hedland’s events, without you they just wouldn’t exist! You make life here in the Pilbara a lot more exciting than it would be and we thank you! To all the churches (both past & present) that ban together to bring an amazing community carols every year. Thank you for your years of tireless service, your support is always outstanding. The joy that you share each year regenerates our town and reminds us that no matter what part of our great earth we come from, Port Hedland is definitely home! To the spectacular people of C3 Church (All 250+ of you!), David & Lil Hooper and Kevin & Liv Angel, what can I say! You are all so truly awesome, words fail me as I think of all the unbelievable events that we have achieved together over the past few years. You are all, always ready to get behind anything that (my crazy mind) I do. I appreciate you all so much and I am so glad to do life with you. And last but not least to my wonderful Husband, Children and close friends, you are the fuel that keeps me going. You are all so willing to lend me a hand, even if it means releasing me to attend meetings upon meetings, band practices, dress rehearsals, hall setups and all other kinds of creative moments that take me away from you at this time of year! You are very precious to me and I am so enriched to have you in my life. So now that you have made it to the end of my loving rant, I challenge you!, don’t just make any comment, instead start sharing what you are thankful for this Christmas!!! Lets remind each other what Christmas is really about. The best gift you can give this Christmas is a kind word!!
