As I sit here and reflect on the past few days I feel the need to share something. Mindys dear friend Beth Mucklo shared a letter she wrote to Mindy at mass yesterday. It is so powerful. Dear Mindy, It is so hard to believe you left this earth ten years ago...I still miss you today just as much as I did when I first learned of your passing, but the difference now is that the pain and longing do not immobilize me & take me to a dark place. With your help from heaven above, I have taken that pain & turned it into inspiration & hope. I know many others feel the same way I do. It is a miracle in itself that we have survived this great loss & that we were able to carry on after you left your physical body. All of us were so devastated & we knew that our lives would never be the same without you. Slowly though we began to gather the strength to move on-and seemingly out of nowhere we were able to become strong enough to carry out our daily activities without you despite our crippling pain. Over time, each of us has come to realize that you never really left us at all. We realized that strength out of nowhere was really the result of your courageous spirit pushing us along. Your spiritual presence brought us comfort and promises of new beginnings. Being the great teacher, coach & mentor that you are- I feel as though you have joined with God & the angels & saints in an effort to teach each of us how to have hope, how to love one another and carry on, despite feelings of loneliness & despair. So, as I miss you now just as much as I did then, you & the way you lived your life still equally inspire me to this day. Thank you for guiding us all into the light of a new day & easing our loneliness & despair with your spiritual presence. We offer up this mass for you today & hold you in our hearts forever. Mindy, I will end this letter the same way you ended all the cards & letters you sent me over the years. ThroughHis love, I send you my love & the love of all those whose lives you have touched. Through His love, we have found a way to carry on & rejoice in your memory. Love always, Beth
