As I sit here as a 28 year old and look back on my everything thats happened in my life... All I can do is say wow. 28, no kids, dont live with my parents, a car, never been to jail, not perfect by a long shot but still a great person and I made it out of a situation that most black men use as an excuse for failing. I didnt have my dad around much when I was growing up and, although I respect and appreciate him for everything hes done for me, my step dad and I never really vibed on that level. But with the help of my mom Doreen Jones Macklin and the tough love from my big cousin/coach/father figure Robert Hinson, I was able to keep my head on mostly straight and stay in line. I chose to use the negative things I experienced and witnessed to give me the blueprint of what not to do. And honestly, I think the best thing to ever happen to me was the combination of that situation and my little sister Ashley IDance Marissa. She taught me a level of responsibility that you arent supposed to learn until you are a parent. Love that girl to the end of the world and back. Lastly, all the parents of the children Ive worked with/hung out with who have allowed me to be a part of them raising their kids, thank you so much for trusting me with them. I look forward to more years of working on me and continuing to build my awesomeness up. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and I appreciate all of yall. For real man....
