As I sit here on a plane, halfway across the country, i reflect deeply on the events of the past week, and few things come to mind. I think about all the moments we shared, the laughs, the smiles, the tears, and the cheers. I think about the HOBY hugs, the highfives l, the elaborate handshakes, the dances, and the love. I think about all the people I came in contact with. People from every corner of the country and world. People from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. People from every lock of life. I think about the stories they told, the experiences they shared, and the battle they are all fighting. I think about all the meals we shared, the songs we sang, and the memories we made together. I think about how people whose viewpoints are at the opposite sides of the spectrum were able to gain perspective from one an other. I think about how much I will miss these precious moments that we were all taking for granted. I think about how just 7 short days ago, I thought I had it all figured out. I think about how much i have grown as a person in the last 7 days, and all the growing i have left. I think about how all of the people surrounding me will one day change the world. I think about my own strengths and weaknesses. I think about how everyday presents me with ways to improve myself, and others around me. I think about how I will change the world. I think about the positive impact we will all have, big or small. I think about how close I grew to 300+ people in less than a week. I think about this crazy world, and how it is in the palm of our hands. I think about what I am going to do with this amazing experience I was lucky enough to have. I think about how there is a bright side to everything, although it is sometimes not apparent. I think about how positive the future of this world is. I think about how much potential the youth of this world have. I think about how we often let things pass us by. This life often happens so fast, that we dont take time to slow things down, and enjoy the little things. WLC was the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. To you, fellow ambassadors, I cannot wait to see what you do with this. I am ready to go back to my community, and take on any challenge presented to me. Everyday is a new day, full of unlimited opportunities. I am ready to take down problems bigger than myself, and then move on to the next. I invited you to test yourself, try new things, be curious, and never settle. I ready to surrender what I am, to what i will become. HOBY, you are the fire inside me. You are my light when there is only darkness. You are my lifeline, and you are my friend. You have made me less quick to judge others, and more willing to give everyone a chance. I am truly grateful to have been able to experience this.
