As I sit here thinking about this last month there is only one word I need to describe it....MOVING. August 2014 has been a month of moves. It started with me moving (all by myself) out of my office/building that I had been in for 23 years to take a job in another school district. We all know books are heavy and educators really like books. Next I went to help my sister in Cincinnati move her life into her new home. Two full, large U-Haul truck loads in one day...we are super women! I came back to Michigan to move that 23 years of stuff into a new larger, but less storage space available, office. This also done on my own, allowed me to organize and weed out unnecessary stuff. Educators keep a lot of stuff. Did I mention that books are really heavy even if they are paperbacks....20 of them in a bag/box do add up. Then on Friday I helped one of my sons move into a FOURTH floor apartment in Dearborn as he transfers to the University of Michigan to finish his degree. I am so proud of him and the challenges he has overcome but did I mention he lives on the FOURTH floor? Yesterday I spent 17 hours finally getting my new office in order. There are little things to do but all the files are organized and all that stuff has a home. I can now concentrate totally on doing my job as the children enter the building on Tuesday to start a new school year. Yes, MOVING is the word for August 2014 but all of these moves are exciting new beginnings and I am glad I am/was a part of them.
