As I sit here typing, the piano tuner is behind me tuning my piano, courtesy of my mom. I remember as a child HATING the day the tuner came as we had to whisper and BE QUIET!, spoken in a LOUD whisper by mom. We often went outside during the tuning but even then we were too loud!. Sigh. We could not win. But once that man was done, WOWSER could he tickle those ivories! We would all stand in awe as he played many a simply yet elegant tune to check the tuning. We did not care why, we just liked hearing him play for us. So I sit here patiently, when I am not somewhere doing something else, knowing that once he is done I am going to enjoy sitting at my own piano once again and playing.
