As I sit here watching the events unfold in Sydney I feel sick and worried for these innocent people! I also am concerned by the coverage. Right about now senior members of terrorist organizations are sitting in the lounge rooms, perhaps even having a cup of Islamic tea, with there recorders and making notes on every element of police movements and what ever tactics they can educate themselves on. A good friend of mine from the QPS just text making the same observation. Seriously when and how have we got to the stage where we believe it is essential to display and distribute information that 15 years ago when I was doing this gig wouldnt even make a picture let alone video streaming. I hope the civil libiterians and those groups that scream transparency are pleased with themselves! Unfortunately get used to this. Terror incidents will no longer be highly organised. They dont have to be they will now continue to occur as one off incidents to get the coverage they are today and as we have seen around the world! Tighter security, closing our borders, jailing and deporting anyone even with a suspected sniff or terror related activity and time to take a strong stance against these whining groups that scream transparency yet blow up at the tightening of security. The safety of our country depends on it! Not that I can do much from my arm chair...unfortunately, but I at least hope to get you thinking!
