As I sit here watching the pundits go back and forth about the immigration problem we currently find ourselves a part of, I had this thought: If I lived in a country where my existence consisted of abject poverty, little or no health care, a constant fear of my children being in peril from disease, crime and a drug trade ... and the next country over had none of this ... would I personally do something illegal and cross the border without first taking the time to follow the necessary steps to citizenship? Im afraid my answer is yes, damn yes, hell yes. If they threw me and my family out, Id try again, and again until I succeeded in getting a better way of life. Whats your answer? Thus the reason fences, border patrol, armies at the gate, the threat of breaking federal law and other ideas wont work. Id never stop trying and neither will they. This has to be looked at in some partnership format rather than a hammer pushing back.
