As I started my day today on my 60th birthday, I gave some thought to one word that would describe how I feel. No, its not “old”, but thanks for the suggestion. I dont feel any older than yesterday, and have not yet subscribed to the senior citizen mentality. The overriding sentiment of the day for me is gratitude. Im grateful to have the good health to do all the things I want and need to do. Im eternally grateful to have wonderful, loving parents who taught me values and encouraged me in all Ive done. Im grateful for the the love and support of my family. Im incredibly grateful to see the success and happiness of our daughters. I approach every day with gratitude to have the knowledge and skills to practice a in a profession that is challenging and fulfilling. Im thankful for the company of good friends and professional colleagues. Im privileged to be surrounded each day by a caring group of professionals in our practice, for which I am grateful. Im exceptionally grateful for the trust and confidence demonstrated in us by our family of patients. It is truly a privilege to care for them. I thank everyone who has sent me birthday greetings. At the risk of being too repetitive, I am grateful for the kind words and sentiments so many of you have passed along. Aging isnt so bad if you consider the only other option.
