As I study for my my American History final I cant help remembering that the movement to abolish slavery that began in the 1800s is far from over. Although its presence is not as noticeable in the United States as it was 200 years ago slavery is still just as big a part of our economy and our everyday lives now as it was then. A huge first step in combating modern slavery and human trafficking is to educate ourselves on the impact our lifestyles have, to spread awareness, and to inspire those around us to make small changes in all of our lives that could make a difference!
