As I wakened this morning and began my day, it was clear to me that God has heard my prayers. The temperature dropped overnight, and fall is in the morning air. For as long as I can remember, I have felt most alive during the autumn time of year. My mind is more active and alert, my body is energized with cool morning breezes and the hint of things to come. I enjoy the cooler weather because of the activities that fall brings. I love football, festivals, and once again am drawn to my front porch. I am happy to put away summer clothes that are never cool enough and exchange them for bluejeans and other fabrics that warm and comfort me. Autumn makes me yearn for close family ties, and I wonder if and how we can arrange a family get-together. The school season and football games make me think of my old classmates. So friends, be forewarned; Im extremely sentimental at this time of year. Overlook me if you notice an extra bounce in my step, or if I call and keep you a little too long on the phone, or if we meet and I embrace you in a hug that lasts a little too long. I am simply loving life!
