As I was cleaning today I ran across this! Its an amazing find! It has history with the BCSB at the Barn….but also had a long life in our Art Dept at college. (I say our Art Dept----because we lived there) I got the radio-record player from my Aunt Margaret…(Bonnie Niemis mother) Bonnie is a certified BCSBFC member. This radio has a very big speaker…and it sounded so good in the Art Studio…its sound inspired me to promote the first Bethel Dance! Bethel frowned on dancing…maybe even had a rule against it…….but I thought it was time for a Bethel Dance!….I went over to the cafeteria and told everyone about this Happening……and to my joy, a few girls (rebels) came over to the dance! Today,...Upon closer examination, I saw that the knobs still had stoneware clay around them…no doubt from a potter changing the station! After college, I had the radio in my upstairs apt at the barn…….I used it to hide bills from myself. Spit band and pottery combined in this one picture……even Scary Steve should like this.
