As I was driving across US-36 this morning on my way to Fort Madison, Iowa I noticed signs for Sam Graves and other Republicans and thought to my self why are rural people (farmers and their families) continuing to vote for Republicans? The Republican party has not done a damn thing for them except block the farm bill at every turn and then cut it up so corporate farms get more subsidies than family farms, they made it almost impossible for them to get access to affordable health care like the rest of us, and then I realized what it is. It is their culture, they have been taught to vote Republican, their relatives have been voting Republican for generations. Their parents taught them to vote Republican like most Blacks were taught to vote Democrat. Add to their culture the propaganda opinion network being shown in nearly every business in rural areas they are being fed BS like the ghetto culture teaches 9 year olds to smoke pot and other crap like there is a culture in the inner city where there are generations of men that do not learn how to work. They are fed a steady stream of lies and distortions and they do not know any better. There has to be some way we can open their eyes, but HOW do we do that?
